Diwali is the one evening of the year when the whole family dresses up together. There is the puja, the rangoli, relatives dropping in, sweets being passed around, and a hundred photos in front of the diyas. For children, that means a long evening in one outfit, so it needs to look festive and let them sit, run and play.
Diwali falls on Sunday, 8 November 2026. Here are our favourite festive looks for girls and boys, plus a few practical tips that make the evening easier for parents.
Before you choose: three things to check
- Comfort for a long evening. Most of our festive sets are cotton, which is easy on the skin through the puja, dinner and visits.
- Safety around diyas and sparklers. Flowing dupattas, wide bell sleeves and long skirts look lovely, but keep them well away from open flames. For the sparkler hour, a fitted kurta or a lehenga with a shorter, lighter skirt is the safer choice.
- The right size. Children grow fast between festivals. If your child is between two sizes, choose the bigger one, or WhatsApp us on +91 96806 66037 and we will help you pick.
Diwali dresses and lehengas for girls
Lehengas for the big night
Nothing says Diwali quite like a little lehenga that twirls. Pick one that suits your child’s personality:

- Pink and Gold Brocade Lehenga: bright pink brocade with golden foil embroidery, ruffled sleeves and a matching bow hair accessory. The most “Diwali” look in the collection.
- Midnight Elegance Lehenga: black with white stripes and a cut-out blouse. A modern, striking choice that stands out in photos against warm diya light.
- Moonlight Twirl Lehenga: white with colourful hand embroidery and a halter-neck cross blouse. Fresh and bright for a family puja.
- Lavender Ombre Lehenga: light-to-deep purple with a lightweight tiered skirt and handmade tassels. Made for twirling.
Sharara and dhoti sets: festive but easy to move in
If your daughter would rather run around with her cousins than sit still, a sharara or dhoti set gives her the festive look with more freedom.

- Floral Sharara Set: pure cotton in ivory with blush-pink and green floral motifs, a sleeveless peplum top with tie-up detailing and flared sharara pants with printed borders.
- Noor Teal Green Dhoti Set: pure cotton, a flared kurta with bell sleeves and lace detailing, and printed dhoti-style pants. A lovely colour for Diwali. Just keep those sleeves away from the diyas.
- Chandni Leheriya Set: a one-shoulder printed top with a lightweight leheriya skirt in green, yellow, red and white. A cheerful Rajasthani touch.
Kurta sets for pujas and family visits
- Off-White Floral A-Line Kurta and Pink Pant Set: an off-white cotton kurta with a red floral print and silver lace, paired with pink pants. Simple, pretty and very comfortable.
- Short Kurta Pant Set for Girls: a cotton short kurta and pant with Sanganeri and floral prints in rich indigo. A classic Rajasthani print for the puja.

Diwali kurta pajama and jacket sets for boys

- Shahzaada Nehru Jacket Set: a sleeveless Nehru jacket with mandarin collar and paisley motifs over a white kurta and pajama, all in pure cotton. The jacket makes it feel dressed-up, and he can take it off once the photos are done.
- Short Kurta Pajama Set: a black cotton kurta with a red and green floral print, white lace on the placket and full sleeves, with white pajama. Available from 0–6 months, so it works for a baby’s first Diwali too.
- Long Kurta Pajama Set: blue floral print in 100% cotton, in sizes up to 11–12 years for older boys.

Twinning for Diwali photos

Matching outfits make the Diwali family photo. Our Mamma’s Mini Mother-Daughter Kurta Set is navy blue with multicolour floral prints and silver-toned detailing, in pure cotton. For a brighter look, the Saheli Matching Mother-Daughter Outfit pairs a red and white printed kurta for mum with a ruffle-neck dress for her daughter.

Small tips for a happy Diwali evening
- Do a trial run a few days before so there are no surprises with fit on the day.
- Keep a simple change of clothes ready for after the sweets and the sparklers.
- Take the family photos early in the evening, before little ones get tired.
- Tie back long hair and tuck in any dupatta before lighting diyas or sparklers.

A lehenga, sharara set or kurta set for girls, and a kurta pajama or Nehru jacket set for boys. Pick something comfortable enough for a long evening of puja, guests and play.
