Shopping for your daughter’s festive outfit usually comes down to three shapes: the lehenga, the sharara set and the dhoti set. All three look lovely in photos. The right one depends on her age, the occasion and how much she plans to run around.
Here’s a simple comparison, with examples from our girls’ traditional wear.

The lehenga: for the twirl

A lehenga is the classic festive choice, and most little girls love the spin. It suits big nights like Diwali, weddings and sangeets. Our lehengas start from 1–2 years:
- Pink and Gold Brocade Lehenga: brocade with golden foil embroidery and ruffled sleeves.
- Moonlight Twirl Lehenga: white with colourful hand embroidery.
- Lavender Ombre Lehenga: a lightweight tiered skirt with handmade tassels.
- Chandni Leheriya Set: a lightweight leheriya skirt in bright Rajasthani colours.
- Midnight Elegance Lehenga: black with white stripes, for a modern look.
Good to know: for toddlers who are still finding their feet, check the skirt length against the size chart so it doesn’t trip them up.
The sharara set: festive with freedom

Sharara pants look like a skirt when she stands still, but they are pants, so she can climb, sit cross-legged and dance without fuss. Our Floral Sharara Set is pure cotton, with a sleeveless peplum top and flared sharara pants with printed borders.
The dhoti set: comfortable and a little different
A dhoti set gives a festive, slightly playful look and is easy to move in. The Noor Teal Green Dhoti Set pairs a flared pure-cotton kurta with bell sleeves and lace detailing with printed dhoti-style pants.
Or keep it simple with a kurta set
For pujas, family lunches and older girls who prefer something easy, a kurta and pant set works for every occasion. Try the Off-White Floral A-Line Kurta and Pink Pant Set or the indigo Short Kurta Pant Set, both available up to 11–12 years.
How to choose
- Under 3: a lehenga or a kurta set. Our sharara and dhoti sets start at 3–4 years.
- Very active child: sharara or dhoti, so the legs are free.
- Big celebration and photos: a lehenga.
- Long day of rituals: a cotton kurta set or sharara for comfort.
- Near diyas: skip wide, flowing sleeves and long skirts at the sparkler hour.
